I really appreciate your sweet and thoughtful comments about the deaths in my husband's family, my dear friends. THANK YOU for offering those condolences and comforting words. During the travel back home, I had my soul-searching period and was reminded that our lives here on earth is really short compared to the eternities to come, and since it's short, might as well live life to the fullest and focus on things that have everlasting impact. Great career with a great pay is important but not as important as the time well-spent with the family. Having a comfortable retirement account is cool, but not as important as life spent in the service of others. Being popular sounds awesome but not as awesome as living a life with integrity and honor. Overall, the funeral hammered into my consciousness to live my day as if it's my last and to savor every moment of it with the most important people in my life, and that's my family. How about you? Creative Bloggers' Party & Hop #68

Welcome to our CBPH, my dear friends!

Princess One loves cooking and trying out recipes that catch her fancy. Now that the Orange County Fair is in full swing, we'll get to eat again totally fried foods like Totally Fried Klondike bars and Totally Fried Twinkies. One thing I don't have the heart to try yet is their chocolate-covered bacon but I'm pretty much open to try their Totally Fried Kool-Aid.

I guess these novel and specialty foods have been conceived by people, who when they were young, had the freedom to experiment in the kitchen. So, as my way of supporting Princess One's lofty goal of becoming a singing chef, I let her come up with creative recipes just like her cheddar wurst with whipped cream, or bacon with whipped cream, even hotdog with whipped cream yesterday. Who knows, these ideas might become sensational recipes, not just in the OC fair, but even in the Food Network :) Did you or any family member have that signature recipe that you're totally proud of?

This week went by quickly because my mother is on vacation right now so we are not spoiled anymore. Everybody in the home, even Princess Two, is pitching in the household chores. Thank goodness we had the 4th of July as a holiday so we got to do the laundry and vacuum our bedrooms.

Speaking of 4th of July, we got the chance to light up some fireworks. We are lucky to live in a city that still allows residents to light up the legal ones. Our HOA (Homeowners Association) prohibits us from lighting up fireworks but being a Filipino at heart who grew up with firecrackers every New Year, I encouraged everyone to go to the major street close to our home to make some lights and noise.
