Creative Bloggers' Party & Hop #63

Thank you for joining us again today at the Creative Bloggers' Party & Hop, my dear friends! My goodness! Today is June 10th and it's my grandma's birthday. If she were alive, she would be a century old today! Wherever you are right now, Grandma, happy birthday!

I hate to admit it but I grew up with no tv, not by my parents choice but because it was forced upon us due to poverty. In high school, there was no electricity so I used kerosene lamps to study for exams and because we had no tv, my mode of entertainment was dreaming my future that includes watching tv. Oh my goodness, fast-forward to the present, and technology has come a long, long way. It took some convincing on my husband's part before I agreed to subscribe with DirectTV through (I was happy just watching the local shows, plus there was no added expense) but after having that first recorded show in our DVR, I became a convert. Now, in the convenience of our home, I can catch up watching my favorite shows during the weekend such as Design Star, Design on a Dime, So You Think You Can Dance, and great movies of all time like Indiana Jones, Star Wars, etc. My girls can watch their Dora and iCarly shows over and over again, and most importantly, my husband can watch his golf shows in HD. How about you, do you watch satellite or cable TV?

Favorite Blog
You clicked, inlinkz tallied. The readers' favorite blog post this past week, being the most viewed post, is How to Style a Dresser (With Limited Resources) by The Creative Imperative. Her post proves to us that dressing up a dresser doesn't have to be expensive to be beautiful.

Our Party
To the main course of this post.
For those of you joining us for the first time, we only have 2 easy, simple rules:

1) Link up your creative post - can be a DIY project, decor, photography, crafts, recipes, poem, thrift finds, link party, or that informative syndicated post that can make us laugh, or cry - in short, whatever you're proud of! And if you like to link more creative posts, go for it! We'd love to see them :) (No links to businesses or giveaways. We have another party for these exclusively every Tuesday called Market Your Biz & Giveaways at 5 pm, PST.)

2) Follow as many blogs as you desire, either via Google Friend Connect or Linky Followers, preferably starting first with the one who linked before you and after you, before branching out, and let them know by leaving a comment. (Following me will be very much appreciated, and I definitely follow back. Just let me know you're following.)

Displaying the party button on your blog, while optional, is very much appreciated :) It will help you remember to come back and link up to the the happiest blog party on the block (ahem!). It will also help others find their way to the party which we all love because the more the merrier :)

Link opens up every Sunday at 5:00 pm, PST and ends Friday at 11:59 pm.

Friends, go ahead and get to know each :) One followed blogger is one gained friend. And please, don't forget to join my Market Your Biz and Giveaways blog party every Tuesday at 5 pm, PST. It's your chance for free promotion of your family-friendly business and giveaways.

Now, let's party like no other!

Burning question: Do you subscribe to a satellite or cable tv? Why or why not?

  1. Sweet hop - thanks for hosting...have a great week.

  2. Thanks for hosting!

    I have cable :)

  3. Thank you for hosting a lovely hop! To answer your burning question, we have DirecTv only because Fios is not offered where we live and I've heard Brighthouse comes with issues. No major issues with DirecTv. Have a great week!

    Jess :)

  4. So. Someone actually DOES watch the Golf Channel?

  5. Happy Sunday SJ! Have a great week xox

  6. Hi!

I am new to your party and a new follower. Thanks for hosting this fun party! I hope to discover some new blogs and make some more friends :)

    xoxo Bunny Jean

  7. We gave up TV a little over 4 years ago and haven't looked back. We've got a netflix subscription and that seems to suffice for when we have TV cravings. It's been refreshing to be TV free and not be dedicated to a certain show on a certain day.

  8. Thanks a million for hosting a lovely party!

  9. SJ,

For years, the only TV channel we got was the local broadcast, picked up by our bunny ears antenae. I have to admit that I loved that my husband and I never fought over which channel to watch!

    Thanks for hosting,

  10. Thanks for hosting. I remember the no TV years too. Same.

  11. Hi! found you through Two Succulent Sisters site on their party listing. I'm definitely a budget minded crafter. So glad I found your site! New GFC and Linky follower.

I love reading your comments. I may or may not respond to all of your comments since blogging is not my full-time job but please know how grateful I am for taking time to share your thoughts.
