Creative Bloggers' Party & Hop 01.29.12

Hello there, my fabulous friends! Welcome to our 44th edition of Creative Bloggers' Party & Hop. I'm so happy you're here :)

I'm blessed to be surrounded with phenomenal blogging friends, one among them is Linda from It All Started With Paint.

She shared with me about something she had cooked up with other amazing newbie bloggers. It's the "Imagine the Impossibilities" challenge that will culminate on January 31st in a multi-blog link party. Mark your calendars, friends, it's on January 31st.

According to Linda, it's all about tackling that challenge that has been holding you back. It could be anything ... diy ... cooking ... learning a new language ... losing that annoying last 5 pounds ... running that marathon that you keep saying you will ... you get the gist ... Yes, Linda, I'll be there and I encourage you, too, my friends, to join her blog party :)

This week went by so fast! I also feel like Princess One is growing up way too fast, and she's just 10. Whenever I take her to school, she asks questions on how to turn on the seat's heater, or the wipers of the car, or how to de-fog the windshield, or how to turn on the signal lights. So I showed them all to her. This Thursday, the questions she popped that really set my system's alarm off were, "How do I turn on the car, Mommy? Can I do it?" OH, MY GOODNESS! A few years ago, she was just an infant that we brought home from the hospital sitting on the infant's carseat at the back. Now she sits in front on the passenger side. I still have 5 years to prepare before I let go of the wheel and let her control it. My baby now wants to turn on the car...by herself. I don't know if that's cool or what. In 5 years, I might be ready, or maybe not.

Blog Tip
Did you get the memo that picnik is closing on April 19th? Bummer! The good news is Susan from Between Naps on the Porch explained that there are other 11 free photo-editing sites that are good alternatives to picnik. Go ahead and see which one will work for you.

Favorite Blog
You clicked, inlinkz tallied. The readers' favorite blog post this past week, being the most viewed post, is Desire Empire's article on how she Lost 10 Kilos Since September. I love the practical ideas that worked for her to lose weight.

Our Party
To the main course of this post.
For those of you joining us for the first time, we only have 2 easy, simple rules:

1) Link up your creative post - can be a DIY project, decor, photography, crafts, recipes, poem, thrift finds, link party, or that informative syndicated post that can make us laugh, or cry - in short, whatever you're proud of! And if you like to link more creative posts, go for it! We'd love to see them :) (No links to businesses or giveaways. We have another party for these exclusively every Tuesday called Market Your Biz & Giveaways at 5 pm, PST.)

2) Follow as many blogs as you desire, preferably starting first with the one who linked before you and after you, before branching out, and let them know by leaving a comment. (Following me will be very much appreciated, and I definitely follow back. Just let me know you're following.)

Displaying the party button on your blog, while optional, is very much appreciated :) It will help you remember to come back and link up to the the happiest blog party on the block (ahem!). It will also help others find their way to the party which we all love because the more the merrier :)

Link opens up every Sunday at 5:00 pm, PST and ends Friday at 11:59 pm.

Friends, go ahead and get to know each :) One followed blogger is one gained friend. And please, don't forget to join my Market Your Biz and Giveaways blog party every Tuesday at 5 pm, PST. It's your chance for free promotion of your family-friendly business and giveaways.

Now, let's party like no other!

Burning question: What is your favorite HGTV design and decorating show? Me, I'm an avid watcher of Design on a Dime. I've been watching it long before I decided to have my own blog. That's how I got inspired to have the name Homemaker On A Dime. How about you? Do you watch HGTV design and decorating shows?

  3. Well I'm honoured that my weight loss post went so well. I don't want to sound glib, but it wasn't all that hard using these tips. I've lost a further 2kg since I posted about it. I'm shocked myself.

Thanks so much for your party every week. There's some great inspiration here and I do try not to miss it ever.

  9. Ha! On the subject of your daughter taking the wheel... My 17 year old son has always been over sure of himself, kinda a little bit of an ego. lol When He was 7 years old, on April Fools Day. We told him over breakfast that we had decided since he was sooooo smart, that it was time for him to drive the car. Cautiously, he went along with it. I got into the drivers' seat and he climbed in my lap. At the point that he thought we were letting him drive, the car lurched forward and scared him to pieces. We all laughed and said, April's Fools!!! He thought it was funny too. I guess the joke is on us though because he will be 18 in July and still doesn't drive!!!! NO help with a third driver in this house. Pay back is a ...well, you know the word!!! lol
