Creative Bloggers' Party & Hop 01.08.12

We survived the first week of the year - WOOHOO! My goodness, just trying to get back to the groove of working in my "real job" was quite a challenge. I did tons of decluttering, organizing, and painting at home that I felt like I was still in the Twilight Zone on the first day of work. I had the strong urge to organize some more, DIY some more, and craft some more.. Back to reality after a good long holiday break and you know what, I am so glad I have a job to go back to :) It makes the DIY and crafting activities more exciting because of the diversion of "real job." Hope that your week was great, too!

By the way I really carved out time this week to feature great posts in this week's blog party and I hope you'll do check them here. To all of you who faithfully link up, THANK YOU! I feel like I owe you so much for sharing your creative posts because: #1 at the end of the work day, you give me a reason to browse through your visually-addictive projects, thus helping me relax after using up so much of the left hemisphere of my brain and #2 you inspire me to stay on our home improvement projects no matter what. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Blog Tip
My camera is Nikon D60 and the brand of the lenses I got is called Tamron. The cool thing about Tamron lenses is that they can work for whatever brand of camera without the hefty price of the brand's lenses. When I was registering my lenses with them, I happened to come across their blog in which their bloggers share various technical specs when they do shots. I found it fascinating to see how varying the angles of a shot can produce beautiful results. May you glean something from it, too.

Favorite Blog
You clicked, inlinkz tallied. The readers' favorite blog post this past week, being the most viewed post, is Creatively Living Outside the Box's Best of 2011 projects. One of them is her chalkboard-backed open cabinets as seen below. Absolutely lovely!

Our Party
To the main course of this post.
For those of you joining us for the first time, we only have 2 easy, simple rules:

1) Link up your creative post - can be a DIY project, decor, photography, crafts, recipes, poem, thrift finds, link party, or that informative syndicated post that can make us laugh, or cry - in short, whatever you're proud of! And if you like to link more creative posts, go for it! We'd love to see them :) (No links to businesses or giveaways. We have another party for these exclusively every Tuesday called Market Your Biz & Giveaways at 5 pm, PST.)

2) Follow as many blogs as you desire, preferably starting first with the one who linked before you and after you, before branching out, and let them know by leaving a comment. (Following me will be very much appreciated, and I definitely follow back. Just let me know you're following.)

Displaying the party button on your blog, while optional, is very much appreciated :) It will help you remember to come back and link up to the the happiest blog party on the block (ahem!). It will also help others find their way to the party which we all love because the more the merrier :)

Link opens up every Sunday at 5:00 pm, PST and ends Friday at 11:59 pm.

Friends, go ahead and get to know each :) One followed blogger is one gained friend. And please, don't forget to join my Market Your Biz and Giveaways blog party every Tuesday at 5 pm, PST. It's your chance for free promotion of your family-friendly business and giveaways.

Now, let's party like no other!

Burning question: How are you plodding along with your goals for the year?

So far, so good. I'm on the right track with my blogging intentions and even better, I'm even on the right track with my intention to reach 114 lbs (I'm a bit chunky right now due to all the holiday eating :( so gym is my best friend lately). I'd love to hear how you're doing with your goals for the year so please share.

  13. Happy New Year SJ! I'm doing ok so far with drinking more water & taking vitamins. Have also been getting yoga once a week but it's only been a week, haha =) For blogging things, I don't have too many specific goals right now, other than to finish posting projects I've already made. I've been working on some new icons from my holiday design event. Good luck with your goals!
