Melissa from
320 Sycamore posted her lime slush recipe in 2008 and I've bookmarked it ever since so I can make it "someday." That "someday" came to pass last week when Princess Two celebrated her birthday party at home. Probably due to the heat, or probably because I served something different, or probably because it was so totally delicious - whatever the reason was, this drink totally rocked my daughter's birthday party.
I will show you how I did my version. Here are the ingredients you'll need:
limeade - 1 liter
7 Up or Sprite - 2 liters
white sugar - 2 cups
water - 6 cups
Boil 6 cups of water. Add 2 cups of white sugar then stir until melted. Add limeade, then freeze. Since a big container won't fit in our freezer, putting the concoction in a big container was not an option. What I did was put them all in little ziplocs then freeze them.
When your guests have arrived, take the slushies out of the ziploc and put them in the jar. A punch bowl is also ok. Add the 7 Up.
Add slices of lime to give that lime-y look.
Here it is, ready for the guests, along with my
hotdog kebobs.
One more solo look before I end this post.
After learning how to make this, now I'm thinking the possibilities are endless. I can definitely experiment to make orange slush, or peach slush, or mango slush, etc. Til next time, my friends!

Not sure what Limeaid is but I think it must be the equivalent to our lime cordial (Australia) Definitely will be giving this one a go in summer. Thanks for the recipe.
