Co-host
My co-host this week describes herself as an aspiring freelance fashion designer planning to launch her own clothing line in near future. She blogs about the two loves of her life - her daughter and sewing! Lakshmi from Adithis Mama Sews is making skirts right from Basic Skirt to all possible variations for this month, thus the name Sew Skirts September as her month's theme. Here's her Circle Bustle Skirt just to give you an example of her creations.

In conjunction with the National Sewing Month, please check her out regularly to see the different skirts tutorial she will share with us.

Blog Tip
Sweeter Than Sweets did a tutorial on How to Create a Gallery or Table of Images on Your Blog. I've been meaning to do it and her post reminded me to organize my Projects Tab like her Projects Gallery.
Favorite Blog
You clicked, inlinkz tallied. The readers' favorite blog post this past week out of 224 links, being the most viewed post, is The Sasse Life's dresser/changing table re-do. Perfect for their little man at home.

Our Party
To the main course of this post.
For those of you joining us for the first time, we only have 2 easy, simple rules:
1) Link up your creative post - can be a DIY project, decor, photography, crafts, recipes, poem, thrift finds, link party, or that informative syndicated post that can make us laugh, or cry - in short, whatever you're proud of! And if you like to link more creative posts, go for it! We'd love to see them :) (No links to businesses or giveaways. We have another party for these exclusively every Tuesday called Market Your Biz & Giveaways at 5 pm, PST.)
2) Follow as many blogs as you desire, preferably starting first with the one who linked before you and after you, before branching out, and let them know by leaving a comment. (Following me and the co-host will be very much appreciated, and we definitely follow back. Just let us know you're following.)
Displaying the party button on your blog, while optional, is very much appreciated :) It will help you remember to come back and link up to the the happiest blog party on the block (ahem!). It will also help others find their way to the party which we all love because the more the merrier :)
Link opens up every Sunday at 5:00 pm, PST and ends Friday at 11:59 pm.
Because I like something different, I'm using the reverse entry for inlinkz - so the most recent participant will show up as number 1, thus giving everybody a chance to have the #1 spot.

Friends, go ahead and get to know each :) One followed blogger is one gained friend. And please, don't forget to join my Market Your Biz and Giveaways blog party every Tuesday at 5 pm, PST. It's your chance for free promotion of your family-friendly business and giveaways.
Burning question: How do you arrange your projects gallery?
Until I find a better way for it, I just display them chronologically according to the time I posted them. Today's blog tip is giving me the push to categorize them into crafts, recipes, and DIYs. How about you? Any special way to organize your projects in your blog?

Dear SJ,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to be part of your Creative Bloggers' Party. Thank you for hosting!
Hugs,

I linked up a post I did last year on Fall decor...thought it was good since the season is going to change soon! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for spotlighting my Gallery post! I hope it's helpful to others. It did take quite awhile but I actually reference that page on my own blog a LOT! It just makes it so much easier to find everything. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us link up!
Thanks for the sweet comments and for hosting.

I wish I knew how to organize my blog better. I'm still a bit confused with the sorting of things and have no idea how to create tabs. I like it when blogs are sorted by project type though, sewing tutorials, paper craft tutorial, for mama tutorial, for the home, etc.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting and featuring my dresser/changing table. I'm surprised to see it was the most viewed!
ReplyDeleteThanks again!

ReplyDeleteI have a tutorials page that is, as you said, chronological. I do want to categorize but I think I'll wait for more posts with a common theme (I seem to dabble in everything!).
Oh that's a splendid idea with the reverse entry! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting SJ! I am off to check out some great links!
